STORIES FROM THE BACKCOUNTRY

Story of a Ski Tour is the simplest of concepts - to tell the story of a single ski tour. There is beauty in this simplicity because a ski tour is a complete story with a beginning, middle and end. Using the adventure of the ski tour as the narrative drive, we tell stories of people and places, in the powder and the quiet.

We aim to capture the essence of these life-affirming moments. The experiences better off had. The poetry found in a single ski turn in perfect powder. We dig into the soul of skiing and share stories about the camaraderie of the mountains, and passions shared. These simple moments that give us meaning and perspective in a confusing world.

The solitude that can only be found in the cold of winter.  Join us at #StoryofaSkiTour

DANIEL THOMSON

Daniel is a Gemini nominated documentary filmmaker with over fifteen years of media experience.  After working in the television industry in Toronto for several years, Daniel decided to escape the city and move to Banff National Park to re-introduce himself to his lifelong passion of skiing.  Daniel has made story driven content for all of the major businesses in the Bow Valley including Banff Centre, Fairmont, Canadian Rockies Public Schools and Lake Louise Ski Resort.  #Storyofaskitour is a shared passion project with longtime friend Jasper Johnson.  Jasper and Daniel have been chasing powder together since their days skiing the green mountains of Northern Vermont while attending Bishop’s University.  With this project they hope to tell thoughtful stories from the backcountry.  Stories that tap into the heart and soul of skiing.
